Braspennincx Shanne
biographie
Shanne Braspennincx (b. 1991) is a Dutch track cyclist that specialises in the Sprint events at the UCI Track Champions League. Shanne began her career on the road before switching to track racing but her career was thrown into doubt in 2015 when she suffered a heart attack in the run up to the Rio Olympics.
Shanne showed real determination to even get back on the bike, and her comeback was completed in stunning style in 2021 when she claimed two European Championships titles before going to the Tokyo Olympics and winning the gold medal in the Keirin.
She went into the 2021 UCI Track Champions League as one of the favourites, but was forced to pull out of the last two rounds after contracting COVID-19, and will be looking to come back with a bang this time around.
