Spain’s Elite and Paralympic track cycling teams have begun their final training camp ahead of the UCI Cycling World Championships at the opening venue of the 2023 UCI Track Champions League venue – the Velodròm Illes Balears in Mallorca.
The camp – which runs until Sunday 30 July – includes UCI Track Champions League riders Sebastián Mora, Tania Calvo and Helena Casas, who are preparing to battle it out for rainbow jerseys in Glasgow, Scotland from 3-9 August.
2021 UCI Track Champions League Endurance rider Eukene Larrarte is also expected to compete in Glasgow, however, she will not be present at the camp. Fellow Endurance rider Erik Martorell is also absent due to injury.
The Velodròm Illes Balears was recently confirmed as being the host location for the opening round of the 2023 UCI Track Champions League on Saturday 21st October. It is the third of four venues to be confirmed for the 2023 season, alongside London’s Lee Valley Velodrome (Round 4 & 5) and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (Round 3).
