Over the weekend UCI Track Champions League star Sebastián Mora emerged triumphant at the Spanish Track Championships.
The 35 year old teamed up with Iker Bonillo to win the Madison event inside the Velodrom Illes Ballears in Mallorca, the same venue where the 2022 UCI Track Champions League season kicked off in style last November.
The result marks a great start to the 2023 campaign for Mora, who experienced mixed emotions during the last season’s UCI Track Champions League, winning the Scratch Race in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and wearing the blue jersey in the final round in London, only to see it snatched from his grasp in the final race of the season by Claudio Imhof.
Meanwhile, Mora’s Spanish team-mate Erik Martorell, who finished 17th in the 2022 series, claimed victory in the Omnium event in Palma.
