All 72 riders competing in the UCI Track Champions League will be kitted out in the same, custom-fitted Viper Z2 TT speedsuits over the five rounds of action.
Santini are returning as the Official Kit Supplier of the UCI Track Champions League in 2022, and to create a more dramatic visual, and maximise the event’s impact and appeal, all 72 competitors will once again be wearing the same kit.
This means that every cyclist taking part in the series will receive customised Santini Viper Z2 TT speedsuits. The design of each one has been inspired by the rider’s nationality and includes their national flag, as well as the UCI Track Champions League logo.
Santini will also be supplying the four official leader jerseys for those riders who are top of the Men’s and Women’s Sprint and Endurance competitions at the end of each round.
The Italian cycling wear company has produced 170 suits in total in the space of just two weeks. The women’s speedsuits come in sizes XS and S, while the men’s come in M, L and XL. Each one was made entirely at Santini’s new headquarters in Bergamo, ensuring they had direct and precise control of the entire process and its timelines.
Paola Santini, Marketing Manager at Santini Cycling Wear, said: “The production timescale for these suits depends on who the qualified riders are, so it is much tighter than normal technical times. From the moment we get the word on the sizes from the UCI Track Champions League, we had just two weeks to actually make them and then a few days to deliver the kits directly to the Velòdrom Illes Balears in Mallorca which is hosting the first round.”
