The UCI Track Champions League has announced Alé as its official kit supplier for the 2023 season.
The partnership will see Alé produce 170 bespoke skinsuits for the world’s best track riders that will compete in the five-round series which begins in Mallorca on Saturday 21st October.
State-of-the-art textile technologies and the highest-performance fabrics have been used in the production of these garments. The body is made from Alé’s own Superior Endurance fabric which is highly durable and also provides great compression and maximum breathability.
The sleeves feature Alé’s Channel Flow fabric which reduces air friction and increases aerodynamics, while the bib shorts are made of Zaffiro; a Lycra Power material which offers high muscle compression and elasticity whilst also being quick drying and ultra-breathable.
The skinsuits will incorporate unique national-themed designs for each of the 28 nationalities represented among the competing athletes, along with UCI Track Champions League branding and space for riders’ own personal sponsors.
Alé will also provide the iconic blue jerseys, worn by the four leaders of the Men’s and Women’s Sprint and Endurance competitions.
Alessia Piccolo, CEO of APG, the company to which Alé belongs, commented: “It is a great honour for Alé to become a partner of the UCI Track Champions League; a burgeoning series that in a very short time has become a real benchmark in this fascinating discipline.
“We understand the needs of the professional riders and will put our know-how and textile engineering expertise at their disposal. For Alé, it is important to support the entire cycling movement, regardless the discipline: that is why we are proud to announce this partnership in support of track cycling, and we wish all the athletes competing in the series the very best of luck.”
Florian Pavia, Series Director of the UCI Track Champions League, said: “We wanted a kit supplier who could meet the unique demands of the world’s best track riders as they compete for the highest stakes in the sport. With Alé, we have found the ideal supplier.
“Not only do Alé understand the importance world-class cyclists place on their kit, but they are also constantly innovating their products to meet those needs, and their passion is clear to see. Their high-performance fabrics and technologies are second-to-none, and we’re delighted to be working with them for the 2023 season.”
