Gros Mathilde
Biographie
Mathilde Gros (b. 1999) is a French track cyclist, specialising in the Sprint events at the UCI Track Champions League.
Mathilde started her sporting career as a basketball player after being inspired by Team USA at the Beijing Olympics. It was during her basketball training at the age of 15 that she first conducted a power test on an indoor bike. Her potential as a cyclist was obvious and prompted her to switch sports. In the space of just a few years, she’d come away from the 2017 Junior Track World Championships with no-less than three world titles.
Sinde then her upward trajectory has showed no signs of abating. She won consecutive European titles in 2018 and 2019, and has enjoyed her best season to date in 2022, winning her first rainbow jersey in the Sprint at the Tissot UCI Track World Championships.
