Mitchell Kelsey
Biografía
Kelsey Mitchell (b. 1993) is a Canadian track cyclist who’ll be specialising in the Sprint events at the UCI Track Champions League. Kelsey played soccer all the way through university and it was only after she’d graduated that she took part in an athletic testing programme which highlighted her potential talent for cycling. As a result, Kelsey gave the bike a try and within a year had won her first Sprint title at the Canadian Track Championships.
Despite only starting cycling in 2017, Kelsey’s career has been highly successful so far. She won a gold medal in the Sprint at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and has also claimed no-less than eight medals already this year at the Commonwealth Games and Pan American Championships.
This will be Kelsey’s second season competing in the UCI Track Champions League, having taken third place overall in the Sprint category in 2021, winning one race along the way.
